This Newtown property had the space for a pool and none of the ground conditions to make it simple. The lot carried real grade change, and any pool put in without solving that first would have been fighting the slope for the rest of its life.
The homeowners, a couple with three daughters, wanted one team to solve the engineering and build the backyard, not a pool contractor who would leave the grading and drainage to somebody else.
That is where Hydroscape Pools stepped in. Instead of splitting the work across trades, the whole project ran through one crew, from the site engineering to the last paver.
The project included:
- Installation of an Imagine Pools Marvelous 30 fiberglass pool, a 30′ x 15’6″ design with an unobstructed swim lane and full-length bench seating
- An expansive Cambridge paver patio with stamped concrete accents
- A professionally engineered retaining wall system to resolve the grade change
- A black aluminum perimeter fence for code compliance and clear sightlines
- A full Pentair equipment package with variable-speed circulation, high-efficiency filtration, automated controls and heating
- An engineered stormwater management system meeting local municipal requirements
The backyard now works as one outdoor room. The Marvelous 30’s rectangular profile keeps the lines clean against the paving, the bench seating means the whole family can be in the water at once, and the retaining wall turns what was a grading problem into a deliberate piece of the design. The black aluminum fence keeps the pool compliant without walling off the view.
Left alone, the slope would have dictated everything. Water would have run where the site wanted it to run rather than where it was supposed to, and the patio would have been built around the problem instead of over it.
If your yard has grade change, drainage questions or a township stormwater requirement standing between you and a pool, those are engineering problems with engineering answers. Hydroscape solves them and builds the backyard in the same project.
