You can find someone to dig a hole and drop a pool in it. Finding a builder who actually cares how it turns out is harder. That is the gap Hydroscape fills, and has since 2003.
Hydroscape Pools & Landscape Construction is an owner-run pool and backyard builder based in Newtown, Pennsylvania, serving homeowners across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Nathan Simcox started the company in 2003 and still runs it the same way: he comes out to talk through your project, he works alongside his crew on the install, and you have one number to call from start to finish. Hydroscape is licensed and insured in all three states (PA #PA046915, NJ #13VH07008400, DE #2026703354).
Hydroscape began as a hardscape and landscape construction company. Patios, walkways, retaining walls, lighting, and water features. Nathan became a certified E.P. Henry contractor, a brand most homeowners in the tri-state area know, along with a Techo-Bloc professional installer. That work carried the company through its first decade, and manufacturers started referring jobs our way.
Around 2015, the next step was obvious. If we were already building the patio, the deck, and the surround, why not build the pool too? Nathan looked hard at liner, concrete, and fiberglass pools, then flew out to see how fiberglass shells were made and installed. What he saw made the call easy. Fiberglass is easier to install, cleaner to maintain, and built to hold up for the long haul. Today most of what we build is fiberglass with the full landscape construction around it, with custom concrete pools when a project calls for it.
Nathan is an owner-operator. He tells every customer the same thing on the first visit: you are not going to talk to a salesperson, get handed off to a project manager, and then chase a team lead for answers. It is the owner and you, start to finish.
That is what Nathan tells his crew, and he means it. No corners cut, no matter what it does to the margin. The goal is to go to bed five years from now without worrying about your pool. That standard sets how we plumb the equipment, how we backfill, and how we tie the decking and landscape in around the pool.
Most pool installs leave you playing general contractor across electricians, gas fitters, decking crews, fencing, planting, and the pool itself. We handle all of it in-house. Electric and gas to the equipment, the pool deck, retaining walls, pavilions, and the full outdoor living build. You do not have to chase six trades to get one backyard done. We also take care of renovations, equipment repair, spa and hot tub builds, and pool opening, closing, and safety covers.
When something on a project does not add up the way we expected, Nathan pulls the crew in and asks. A customer once watched him do that and said he was surprised the owner was asking the guys what they thought. Nathan told him there is no ego here. Getting it right is the only thing that matters. Most of our crew has been with us four years or longer, and they catch things in the field that make the finished job better.
Customers send us photos of their kids in the pool months and years after we leave. One customer walked up at the end of a job, the kids already in the water and the yard graded, and said, “Man, thank you. This is what it is all about.” Coming from someone who is not easy to please, that landed. That is what we are really building.
You want a pool installed right, with the deck, the landscape, the lighting, and the surround done by the same team that put the pool in. You trust a professional to tell you what is worth doing, what is not, and where to spend your money. You want a builder who will dial in on what you actually want and deliver it without padding the job.
We are not the right call if you are only shopping for the cheapest quote, or if you only want the pool dropped in with separate contractors handling everything else. The model works because we own the full project. We will not oversell you on size, finishes, or features you do not want either.
We start with a conversation about what you want the backyard to do for your family. Nathan walks the property and looks at access, drainage, sun exposure, and grading. You get a real plan and a real number. From there we handle permitting, scheduling, and the install. When you have a question, you ask Nathan. When something changes, you hear it from Nathan. At the end, you get a backyard that is ready to use, not a punch list of trades to keep chasing.

Hydroscape Pools & Landscape Construction is owned and run by Nathan Simcox, and Nathan is the person you actually work with. He has been building since 2003, started out in landscape and hardscape construction, and moved into inground pools as the natural next step once he was already building the patio, the decking, and everything around the water. Today inground pools are his focus, with the full outdoor living build around them.
When you hire Hydroscape, you are hiring Nathan, not a sales rep who hands you off. He comes out to talk through the job, works alongside his own crew on the install, and gives you one number to call from start to finish. Most of his guys have been with him for years, so the same team that quotes your pool is the team that builds it. That hands-on, owner-operator approach is the reason homeowners across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware choose to work directly with the owner.
Built-in grills, bars, countertops, and full outdoor kitchens, with the gas and electrical handled in-house.
Pergolas, pavilions, and shade structures that keep your patio and pool comfortable all summer.
Patios, pool decks, walkways, retaining walls, and fire features, built to last.
