A backyard pool changes how your family spends summer, and the company you hire makes all the difference. Hydroscape Pools & Landscape Construction has been building inground pools across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Northern Virginia since 2003, working out of Newtown, PA. We build both fiberglass and custom concrete and gunite pools, so the design fits your yard and how you actually want to use it. If you are still deciding between the two, here is our honest take on fiberglass vs gunite.

Our own crews handle the work start to finish, from digging to plumbing to the equipment that keeps the water clear. We are licensed and insured in PA (#PA046915), NJ (#13VH07008400), and DE (#2026703354). If your plans grow, we also handle pool renovation and full landscape and outdoor living projects.

Fiberglass Pools: Quick to Install and Easy to Own

If you want to be swimming sooner, a fiberglass pool is hard to beat. The shell arrives ready to set, so we skip the long concrete curing time and most weather delays. In many cases the pool is in the ground and finished in days instead of weeks.

The smooth gel-coat surface resists algae, which means less scrubbing and fewer chemicals for you over the years. It holds up well through our cold winters and freeze-thaw cycles. Our crews handle the whole job in house, from the dig to the plumbing to the electrical, so there is one team accountable for the result. Add a good filter and an automatic cleaner and you spend more time in the pool and less time taking care of it.

Custom Concrete & Gunite Pools Built Your Way

When you have a specific shape in mind, or your yard has tricky grades and angles, a custom concrete and gunite pool gives you room to design exactly what you want. Vanishing edges, a beach entry, a built-in waterfall, an unusual shape that fits your space: concrete makes it possible.

We build these pools with steel-reinforced concrete sprayed under pressure for real strength, so they stand up to ground movement and decades of seasons. A gunite pool becomes a permanent part of your home, and it is built to last for generations.

Design Flexibility

Structural Performance

Any shape or size you want

50+ year lifespan

Custom depths for any use

Stays solid as ground shifts

Built-in water features

Handles our freeze-thaw winters

Every gunite pool we pour is reinforced with steel and applied under pressure for density and strength. The result is more than a place to swim. It is a lasting feature that adds to your home and keeps performing year after year.

Built-In Spas & Spillover Hot Tubs

A spa built into your pool gives you a warm spot to relax long after the swimming season winds down. Our spillover designs let water flow from the spa into the pool, so the two feel like one space. Each one comes with strong jets, quiet circulation, and simple controls you can run from your phone or a panel by the pool.

We build them in reinforced concrete with finishes and lighting that look great into the evening. Whether it is part of a new pool or part of a renovation, a built-in spa or hot tub gives you a quiet place to unwind right in your own backyard.

Pool Renovation, Resurfacing & Updates

After years of sun, chemicals, and use, even a well-built pool starts to show its age. We bring tired pools back to life with fresh surfaces, updated tile, and new finishes in plaster, aggregate, or tile. First we check the structure, then we prep and refinish so the pool looks new and works the way it should.

We also swap out old equipment for newer energy-efficient pumps, heaters, and automation that cost less to run. Coping, deck refinishing, and updated plumbing round out the work and bring everything up to code. If your pool needs more than a touch-up, see our full pool renovation options, or ask us about equipment repair and upgrades.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Does the Typical Pool Installation Process Take From Start to Finish?

Most fiberglass pools go in within 2 to 4 weeks, while a custom concrete pool usually runs 6 to 12 weeks. The exact timeline depends on permits, weather, your soil, and how detailed the design is. Concrete needs curing time that fiberglass does not, which is why it takes longer. We will give you a clear schedule for your project at your consultation.

Yes, we take care of the permits for you. That usually means a building permit, an electrical permit for lighting and equipment, and a plumbing permit for the water lines. Most towns also want engineering plans, setback compliance, and any HOA sign-off. The permit step often takes 2 to 4 weeks depending on your town, and we handle every submission so everything is up to code.

Yes. Hydroscape offers 0% financing in house to help spread out the cost, and we also work with Lyon Financial, a lender that specializes in pool projects and offers a wide range of terms, from short plans out to 20 and 30 years at different rates. At your consultation we will walk through the options and help you find a payment plan that fits your budget.

You get warranty coverage in writing, and it comes in three parts. Hydroscape backs the pool build itself with a three year workmanship warranty. Decking and other work around the pool carry a one year workmanship warranty. And every product we install keeps its own manufacturer warranty, so a fiberglass shell holds its structural coverage from the manufacturer and the equipment holds its coverage from the maker. Whether your pool is fiberglass or gunite, you know exactly what is covered before we start.

We can build year-round with some planning around the weather. Fiberglass pools are a good fit for colder months since they do not need concrete to cure. We schedule the dig, utility work, and finishing around clear weather windows. Spring and summer are still the easiest seasons to wrap up quickly, but off-season builds are absolutely doable.
